Chris Finch has been named the new head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team announced today. Finch, who has served as the Timberwolves' interim head coach since February 22, 2021, led the team to a 24-23 record in 47 games.

Finch is regarded as one of the brightest offensive minds in the game. He has over 20 years of coaching experience, including stints as an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Denver Nuggets. He also served as the head coach of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA G League from 2016 to 2021.

Finch is expected to undergo surgery on his torn patellar tendon in his right knee on Wednesday. The surgery is expected to sideline him for 4-6 months.
